Amazon.com appointed Samir Kumar to be its new India head, as the e-commerce giant expands its business in the country. Kumar, a 25-year veteran at the company, will take charge of Amazon's India consumer business in addition to overseeing the Middle East, South Africa and Turkey consumer businesses, the U.S. company said Wednesday in a statement.
Investigators said the companies created an ecosystem where preferred sellers appeared higher in search results.
