The shocking discovery of a body forced the M1 motorway into lockdown on Monday afternoon. Both directions were closed off at around 3pm as Hertfordshire Police carried out their investigation. A Hertfordshire Police spokesperson said on Monday: "We were contacted earlier this afternoon after the body of a man was found in undergrowth at the side of the motorway between junctions five and six.
