The prestigious NACTOY awards kicked off the Detroit Auto Show Media Day on Friday morning as the event returned to its traditional January slot as the first auto show of the year.

Truck of the Year finalists were the Ford Ranger, Ram 1500, and Toyota Tacoma - three brand-new models, with two small trucks showing the return of that once popular segment. Ford's fifth win in a row shows that it dominates the pickup market, which is also reflected in the brand's sales figures.
