TxDOT began treating heavily traveled roadways in Austin on Monday, spraying brine on the pavement. Brine is a mix of water and salt that prevents ice and snow from sticking to the highway. TxDOT officials are warning drivers that just because the roads are treated doesn't mean they will be passable.

With the possibility of winter weather forecast for later this week, TxDOT Brownwood District Crews have started pretreating roadways in the district. Motorists will see  brine spraying trucks across the nine counties of the district—Brown,

Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) crews in Waco are mobilizing to begin early brine application on state roads. Crews will be applying brine to Interstate 35, Interstate 14, U.S. and State Highway frontage roads and overpasses on Monday.

Road crews are hard at work preparing to lessen the impact of winter weather. Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) crews in northeast Texas are doing their part so that in the case of winter weather,
