Lucy Dacus announced her first solo album since 2021, 'Forever Is a Feeling,' and has released a first single and video, 'Ankles.' A tour will follow.

Lucy Dacus’ focus the past couple years has been on Boygenius, but now she’s back solo: Today (January 15), she announced a new album, Forever Is A Feeling. She also shared two new songs: “Limerence” and “Ankles,” the latter of which has a new video out now.

To preview the album, Dacus shared two excellent new tracks: “Ankles” and “Limerence.” The former is a sexually-charged stunner, in which she sings over a euphoric string arrangement, “What if we don’t touch?/What if we only talk about what we want/And cannot have/And I’ll throw a fit?”

Lucy Dacus is set to release her first solo album in four years. The 29-year-old musician is one third of indie supergroup Boygenius, with Julien Baker and Phoebe Bridgers, and hasn't released a full-length solo project since 2021's 'Home Video'.

Speaking of her mind-set making the album, Dacus says, “I got kicked in the head with emotions. Falling in love, falling out of love. You have to destroy things in order to create things. And I did destroy a really beautiful life.

You can’t actually capture forever,” Dacus says. “But I think we feel forever in moments. I don’t know how much time I’ve spent in forever, but I know I’ve visited.” In February, the singer-songwriter is set to visit a number of less liminal places than forever,

Dacus will tour in support of Forever Is a Feeling starting in April. The North American trek with start on April 16, in Philadelphia, and wind through New York, Toronto, Nashville, Chicago, Dallas, and elsewhere before wrapping up May 14 with a concert in Los Angeles.
