AIIMS, Darbhanga will have a super-specialty hospital/AYUSH block, Medical College, Nursing College, night shelter and residential facilities among others. It will provide tertiary health care facilities to the people of Bihar and nearby regions.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Bihar on November 13 to inaugurate and lay the foundation for development projects worth ₹12,100 crore, including AIIMS Darbhanga, road and rail improvements, and initiatives in the petroleum sector.
