It marks the second time in six months that bakery chain Greggs has upped the price of its sausage roll, after it rose from £1.25 from £1.20 last year

The bakery chain said "employment costs will result in further overall cost inflation, although wage increases should provide support to consumers"

Greggs is among some of Britain’s biggest retailers to be facing a bigger tax bill this year, and was one of more than 70 businesses that wrote to Chancellor Rachel Reeves last year to warn that changes announced in the October Budget meant price hikes were a “certainty”.

Greggs has raised the price of its iconic sausage roll to £1.30, marking the second increase in just six months for the popular bakery chain. The 5p rise follows a previous hike from £1.20 to £1.25 in July,

Greggs upped the prices on a number of items in July 2024, including a 5p increase on the cost of sausage rolls.
