Business leaders, lawmakers, legal scholars, and influencers who make money on TikTok are watching to see how Trump tries to resolve a thicket of regulatory, legal, financial and geopolitical

While TikTok remains hugely popular in Brazil, Indonesia and other markets, its 170 million users in the United States are its most valuable.

Trump signed an executive order to delay the implementation of a law banning the use of TikTok in the U.S. by 75 days while saying that the U.S. should use its leverage to take ownership of half the company.

TikTok was not the only app that became unavailable for many U.S. users. The ban also impacts other Bytedance apps, like CapCut, Lempon8 and Gauth. Apple, in a statement on its website, said it’s “obligated to follow the laws in the jurisdictions where it operates,”

Han has used the visit to meet with members of the American business community, including Tesla CEO and close Trump associate Elon Musk, according to Chinese state agency Xinhua. Musk is widely thought to be seen by Beijing as more sympathetic to its interests than others in Trump’s orbit.
