Former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro accused the country’s supreme court of persecuting him on Saturday after his appeal against a travel ban was rejected.

Ex-President Jair Bolsonaro, banned from leaving Brazil due to allegations he plotted a coup, has appealed to the Supreme Court to attend the Jan. 20 ceremony in Washington.

Bolsonaro's lawyers filed an appeal claiming the politician had fully complied with the precautionary measures imposed on him by the Supreme Court.
