Microsoft releases a new Windows app called Windows App for running Windows apps
Microsoft announced today that it's releasing a new app called Windows App as an app for Windows that allows users to run Windows and also Windows apps (it's also coming to macOS, iOS, web browsers, and is in public preview for Android).
Microsoft's New Windows App Unifies Remote Access
Microsoft has been testing the app for almost a year, but it's now (mostly) ready for prime time. The Android version is still in preview but has most of the same features. The Windows App can stream Windows and hosted apps from Microsoft's cloud services like Windows 365 and Azure Virtual Desktop.
Remote Desktop Is Becoming The Windows app
Microsoft has announced that the Windows App, currently in preview, will be widely available this fall. This app will be the unified client for securely connecting to Windows on any device or app. This includes Remote PC and Remote Desktop Services, but also Windows 365, Azure Virtual Desktop, Microsoft Dev Box, and more.
