Tottenham fell behind for the 13th time from 15 league games at home in 2024. On eight previous occasions they fought back to win, but this time Spurs' luck ran out as they left themselves too much to do. Spurs had the opportunity to go above local rivals Arsenal - before they faced Chelsea - and there was some boos from the home fans at half-time.

Victor Wembanyama, Stephon Castle and Devin Vassell had good games, but the Spurs were too sloppy as a team to beat an inferior opponent.
