Those sanctioned include the former vice-president of Canada-China Friendship Society and the executive director of the Uyghur Rights Advocacy Project

For the two institutions, China said it is freezing their 'movable property, immovable property and other types of property within the territory of China.'

The measures include asset freezes and entry bans in response to accusations of rights abuses and oppressive rule.
