WASHINGTON (AP) — Former President Bill Clinton was discharged from a Washington hospital on Tuesday and will be home for Christmas after he was admitted the day before with a fever. Clinton is being treated for the flu, Angel Urena, Clinton’s deputy chief of staff, said in a statement about his release.

Bill Clinton had been admitted Monday to MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington “for testing and observation after developing a fever,” a Clinton spokesman said.

“President Clinton was admitted to Georgetown University Medical Center this afternoon for testing and observation after developing a fever,” Clinton’s deputy chief of staff Angel Ureña wrote on X. “He remains in good spirits and deeply appreciates the excellent care he is receiving.”
