Subaru of America, Inc. today announced the new 2026 Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid. The third-generation Subaru Crosstrek returns with a hybrid model for 2026, equipped with a next-generation Subaru series-parallel hybrid system and standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive for enhanced range and capability.

Subaru hasn’t discussed fuel economy ratings for the new 2026 Crosstrek Hybrid, but given how the gasoline-only models perform and based on estimates set by the company for the larger and heavier Forester Hybrid, it should get 35 mpg in combined driving (if not more).

It seems that 2025 will be the year Subaru finally finally gets it right, however. On Thursday, the carmaker revealed the stats for the 2026 model year version — and initial impressions of its specifications are quite positive.

Subaru just launched a new hybrid powertrain for the Crosstrek. It offers more horsepower than any other Crosstrek and maintains a real AWD system. Pricing, specs, and equipment details will follow close to its Fall 2025 launch.
